Following the 2020 digital edition, this year, BACARDÍ NH7 Weekender was back with multiple stages, the signature ferris wheel, a specially curated food and drinking experience, interactive brand engagement spaces, and of course, the anticipated live performances. The lineup was included predominantly Indian musicians and comedians all coming together to create a unique and memorable experience for the audience at Mahalaxmi Lawns in Pune.

Curation-wise, the festival stuck to Indian and Indian-origin artists – a familiar blend of crowd-pullers like Ritviz, Prateek Kuhad, Taba Chake, The Yellow Diary, When Chai Met Toast, Lifafa and Seedhe Maut alongside exceptional, rising talents like Kayan (who debuted her live set) RANJ x Clifr, Lojal, Tanmaya Bhatnagar and T.ill APES. It can’t be a festival without Ankur Tewari and the Ghalat Family and the seasoned singer-songwriter and his band certainly brought in a celebration sound to Weekender, much like dependable disco-funk duo Madboy/Mink.

The large open-air stage gave an excellent sense of on-site experience, and the colorful lighting background wall integrated the stage with different styles of light and shadow art. ACME SABER HYBRID and STAGE BLINDER IP WW2 light up the stage.

SABER HYBRID is not only with fashionable and compact appearance, but also innovates in the traditional design concept of stage lighting, which integrates beam, wash and spot perfectly. ACME STAGE BLINDER IP WW2 is an LED fixture with a classic Blinder appearance, and a familiar 'tungsten' effect. It has a patented plug-in function, and can be quickly rigged without the need for tools. Brighter than the traditional audience blinder, with an outstanding variable speed strobe effect and IPX4 protection rating, the STAGE BLINDER IP WW2 is suitable for large and medium-sized concerts, variety acts and other professional stage or entertainment applications requiring a striking visual impact.

It’s definitely a contrast to the festival’s resplendent tagline of “Do what makes you happy again” but that’s not necessarily new. A lot of artists had important reminders of loss, grief and isolation, some of which they suffered during the pandemic. This was on display alongside uplifting, party-starting music.
