It was divided into five chapters ,including dream light, human light, happy dreams, sharing happiness and dream city, which deduced the time spirit “pioneer cares about the world” and the Olympic spirit “Swifter, higher, stronger “from Changsha people .

What are the highlights of the opening ceremony of the 9th municipal games? And What kind of technical support? With these questions, I will walk into the dialogue with the lighting designer liu Yang to discuss the technical mystery of the lighting of the 9th municipal games.

A:As a famous lighting engineer in the industry, how did you get involved in lighting design？

L:From late 1980s to early 1990s, there were no big performances in China at that time.It was only after the hundreds of concerts in Beijing that the world was filled with love, more Hong Kong shows began to enter the mainland.I started to enter the lighting industry with cui jian's national tour in 1987.And I chose to go to Japan to study the theatre lighting in 1990 ,then I returned to China and continue my study. I applied for the Chinese opera in1994,and after graduation, I was lucky enough to be assigned to the ministry of culture, being responsible for the lighting design of large-scale concerts in China, Then it was transferred from the ministry of culture to the national song and dance troupe. Over and over again, for 30 years, I have had a close relationship with the light.

A:Can you talk to us about the lighting conception of the 9th municipal games?

L:From the point of view of the lighting designer, there are three main points: innovation,meaning ,change . Throughout the last 20 years, the design of the performance in domestic stadium has been carried out with various lamp types, such as wash light, pattern light, follow spot and led lighting . Chinese theatrical performances are in full blossom. If you have no idea of your own, you will have nothing new to do. The cost of the 9th municipal games is very tight, so I thought about it for a long time on how to make the performance in the present condition or whether it can be done only by the same light fixture.Finally，I decided to complete my design by using only nearly 1000 ACME XP-20R BSW three-in-one computer lamp，which is also a bold attempt. ACME XP-20R BSW has a has a good performance, Whether its pattern, wash or beam can meet the needs of such a performance. The performance completed one of my design dreams and was a breakthrough in the performance of the domestic stadium in nearly 20 years.

A:Lighting designer is the artists who use lights to create a attractive colors. As the tool used by lighting designer for presenting the creative ideas, what qualities of the lighting do you value most ?

L:According to different works, such as drama or musical design, I will choose the corresponding lights.My earliest contact with ACME XP-20R BSW was in the luoyang peony festival. After using it once, I felt that its stability brightness was very suitable for large-scale outdoor concerts. And it's very convenient to install XP-20R BSW with light body, which is very important in the performance. So I chose ACME's XP-20R BSW for the 9th municipal games.

A:The lighting is very important in the art of dancing While light source has a crucial influence on lighting. The light source of XP-20R BSW is Philips platinum light source 20R. Mr.liu, what are the advantages and characteristics of this 470W light source?

L:The specifications of the 9th municipal games are very high and the director is very strict, so from the point of view of the lighting designer, the requirements for lamps and lanterns are also very high that we have to ensure the brightness and color temperature f each light. Philips' 20R light bulb is a very bright that provides strong and very sharp light output. The color temperature reached 8000K, making the lighting more prominent and sharper in the performance, which brought me the desired effect.

A:What Suggestions and expectations do you have for the future development of philips stage lighting?

L:The three principles ‘creativity ,meaning and change’ is important to the lighting designer. I believe this is also the same for manufacturers As a manufacturer, we should not only have our own research and development strength, but also keep up with The times and update the products.

A:What elements do you think a lighting designer needs to complete a good performance with?

L:A designer is not a capable person, and a good designer must have a strong team behind him, a complete system in the back of this team. I have cooperated with the team behind me in Beijing yongsheng jiahua for many years, and the team that supports Beijing yongsheng jiahua is the manufacturer of the research and development strength of ACME, making technical guarantee. Without their support, many things would not have been done.

A:What are your expectations and recommendations for all lighting practitioners.

L:The lighting industry is so hard that staying up all night is routine, so exercising is important for every lighting practitioner .Good health and good mood lead to good works, so the lighting practitioners should have the opportunity to exercise more.
My former teacher once told me to make sure that the lighting design must understand painting so as to improve the ability of the use of color and work understanding. Now young lighting artists have to put more effort into basic skills such as painting and music. Read more and improve the cultural heritage, To observe the works of domestic and foreign masters and accumulate more experience. Due to the differences between Chinese and western cultures, western design integration is particularly good, which requires us to learn more.

The lighting industry has a wide range of prospects and opportunities, but opportunities tend to be reserved for those who are prepared .The lamplight practitioners should improve their self-cultivation, always being ready. Now there are many young talents in the lighting design industry and I believe they will bring many high-quality products to everyone in the near future.

A:In the last 30 years, what has been the reason for you to go to the present？

L:The first is that I like the light in my bones, and the other reason is the audience's recognition of the works.The applause after each performance was the greatest encouragement to me I remember when I was studying in Japan, there are not many performance opportunity as China. One of the designers told me that maybe we could only do 100 plays in our life, so we should cherish every play. Because if the play wasn't done, we'd have missed a chance, which has impressed me very deep. Therefore, I cherish every opportunity, and try my best to sharpen each work, hoping to bring good lighting to the audience.

A:Finally, is there anything particular that you want to say?

L:I am very grateful to my teacher for several years at drama academy. Mr. Feng and Mr. Mu taught me that when you understand the deep meaning of the work, the design will be different. Good work must be done by heart. Their words have been with me throughout my career.
